Day in and day out I confirm this idea: we learn by doing
I've started several marketing courses over the years that I ended up clicking out of after a day or two. However, when you commit your time and money to building an idea of your own, you're much more invested. You can use the tools in front of us (Claude, as an example) to learn the steps it takes to launch a marketing campaign. With that process you learn more in 5 days than in any course you take online.
When you understand marketing, you understand human behavior: why people click, where they click, what they like, what they don't like. That is something pretty special, but access to this subject-matter expertise has been kept to those that studied it. Now with AI, that moat is no longer so big. At least for entry-level knowledge.
For me, this experimentation unlocked a skill I had struggled with for years because I did not know where to start. The process of building a landing page, connecting it to trackers, then to Mailchimp felt like too many steps I did not know how to navigate. Building my own product forced me to figure it out, and AI made the learning curve manageable.
This is an invitation to experiment. Take an idea you've always wanted to launch into the market. Maybe it's a cooking channel, maybe it's something with travel, maybe it's about art. Go to Claude (or any tool you like) and start a conversation about how to reach an audience. Build step by step, you'll surprise yourself.
In fact, you can take this very post, paste its text into Claude, and ask how you can do the same. With my case it was marketing, but for you it may be another skill entirely.
The step we miss sometimes because we are drowning in new information: experimentation.
What are YOU going to learn by doing?
Have a great Sunday!
